The Dordogne (24) is located in the Aquitaine region, in south-west France. It owes its name to the Dordogne River which crosses the department from east to west in the southern part. At equal distance from the pole and the equator, it benefits from its location, a particularly mild climate, making it a pleasant area to live in all seasons.
Green Périgord with the main town of Nontron, is so named for the green hills and valleys in an area that is crossed by numerous streams and rivers. The town of Brantome is known as the Venice of the Périgord.
White Périgord located around the main city of the region, Périgueux and the Isle valley, is the land of limestone plateaus and wide valleys, meadows, furrowed by Auvézère and Isle.
Purple Périgord with its main town of Bergerac, is the wine region and country houses, purple is the color of the Périgord black vin.Le around the town of Sarlat, the name comes from the dark color of the oak forests that dot the region. Most tourist sites are in the Périgord Black.

There are many "most beautiful villages in France," including Beynac, La Roque-Gageac, St-Léon-sur-Vézère Limeuil, Domme, Belvès and Monpazier, all worth a visit. The town of Sarlat is the capital of Black Périgord, saved and its architectural heritage sector, offer to all visitors a unique journey through time.Almost every village has its market day and markets are among the best in France.

Of course, one of the attractions of the region's gastronomy. Perigord has been called the gastronomic capital of France. Here, foie gras and truffles are almost ordinary food and the shops are filled to overflowing with these local treasures. You'll find lots of duck and goose cooked in different ways. The Dordogne offers many activities and plenty to discover. This is a great place for the whole family.





Castle of Beynac
- with the crowning of its position limestone cliffs overlooking the Dordogne River, this is one of the most impressive castles in the region. The views are magnificent and you can see many of the other castles of the Dordogne from here. A visit to the village is also recommended.




The gardens of Eyrignac - listed building, is considered one of the most beautiful gardens in France.





Lascaux II - the masterpiece of prehistoric art is located just outside the town of Montignac. This reply contains about 90% of the original cave paintings, which was closed to the public in 1963, to preserve the site. About 600 animals are represented in the cave




Vésunna - the museum designed by international architect Jean Nouvel protects and showcases the remains of a Gallo-Roman mansion decorated with painted plaster, the domus of Vésone. Everyday life and the ancient city are presented through archaeological collections dating from the 1st to the 3rd century.
